The Inside Scoop: La Aguada

For polo lovers and outdoor adventurers alike, La Aguada Polo Ranch is a stunning property just an hour drive outside Buenos Aires. At first glance, the property is lined with willow trees and lush vegetation as far as the eye can see – flush with vibrant colors and the fragrant smell of grass  on a sunny day. Down the long path that takes you into the main area of the ranch, you will be greeted by little owls, horses (over 250 to be exact), hawks, and parrots that all call La Aguada home. Upon arrival to your private villa, the feeling of the ranch is very friendly and the warmth of the hosts prepare you for a wonderful day of polo and horseback riding

Established in the 1970s, La Aguada is a family polo club and ranch run by the world-renowned Novillo Astrada brothers. Driven for their love of Polo and the open outdoors, the brothers have shared their private estate with visitors for the last 10 years. People from all around the world come to La Aguada to practice and learn polo, and with Blue Parallel one can experience the polo life as well. While there, experience a private polo clinic, an introduction class to the basics of polo, and learn about the life and history of polo playing in the region. Afterwards, relax by the pool and enjoy an “asado,” or BBQ, prepared by an Argentine asador, or grill-master. Overall, La Aguada is a must-see during your stay in Buenos Aires if you have a few extra days and a desire to experience an authentic taste of elite Buenos Aires.
